Tactical Type II Water Tenders
One of our Tactical Tenders was sent to New Orleans in 2005 following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. New Orleans was without working water hydrants in most of its city and outlying areas. Our Tender and Crews worked with the New Orleans Fire Dept. to support their supply water operations. Our machine worked hundreds of fires in New Orleans and aided at major multiple-alarm fires in Louisiana.
Photo: The red Tactical Attack Tender is a 2650 gallon Type 2 equipped with a 100cfm CAFS unit. It was custom-built for the government and used on western forest lands. It had an extensive makeover in 2007, updating it to be used for wildland interface fires for structure protection and initial attack on forest fires. In 2007 it spent many weeks on the East Zone Complex Fires near McCall ID. It was also credited with saving the historic Yellowjacket Ranch from a fierce firestorm that blew in to South Fork, ID this last summer.
Compressed Air Foam System
Our lead Tactical Tender is equipped with a CAFS unit. This system uses a high-volume air compressor, Class A foam, water, and a high-powered 3" 'Pump 'n Roll' fire truck water pump to protect structures and vegatation from fire, flames, and heat.
